As I was working on making plans for my channel, writing lists and lists of notes and preparations, I thought long and hard about what our name should be. I wanted it to really represent who we are and what we want to represent through this channel. Not being the most creative person myself, I asked Zack what he thought, and he asked one of his friends. So we put together a list of possibilities from that.
We had labels like "Fearless" and "Forgiven" and a lot of other good options. But one of them really stuck out to me: "New Creation". I thought about those names and this was the one that really stuck with me. And it accomplished my goal: it tells our viewers what we are and who we represent. Because it's true: we are a New Creation. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: the old has gone, the new has come!"
And that is really what we want to show on our channel. It's not about us, it's about the One who made us new. Above all else, our music is to bring glory to Him. He is the one who gave us our talents, and everything we do is to bring glory to His Name.
"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." -1 Corinthians 10:31
"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." -Colossians 3:17
"Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord." -Ephesians 5:19
And that is exactly what we are going to do.
