Encourage one another!
This past Sunday, I sang on the worship team for church. Not only that, I led one of the songs, the first time I've ever led a worship song. And I'm not gonna lie, I was CRAZY nervous. I'm really insecure about my voice, and though I love singing, singing with a microphone makes me very uncomfortable and doubtful of my abilities. But it was made much easier through the support of those around me.
Jesus Suffered for You
I do a daily devotional from a book called "Sparkling Gems from the Greek." It is a book written by a man who has studied Greek, and each day there is one or two verses that he analyzes. He gives context to the verse and gives a better translation of it. Since Easter is usually in April, the author devoted that whole month to studying verses about what went on between the Final Supper and the Resurrection. This week it specifically looks at what Jesus went through before going to the cross. I didn't realize exactly what he went through, and the more I thought about it the more it amazed me, and that's what I want to share with you this week.
The Power of Christ in You
I was in a Bible study this past week, and in it we were talking about John 18. This passage is about when Jesus is arrested. In the verses, Judas has brought a small army of Roman soldiers and temple police (between 300 and 600 men!) to arrest Jesus. In these verses, Jesus comes up to the soldiers and asks, "Who are you looking for?" They tell him they are looking for Jesus of Nazareth. To this, Jesus responds and says "I AM." This causes the entire army to literally fall to the ground! (verse 6)
My Goal for April
Another month has gone by. What a crazy month it's been! It seems the days are going faster and faster. Hopefully someday it slows down and I can catch up with everything! Now that March is over and April has begun, I'm shifting my focus to a new goal. But first, I'm going to review how I did last month.
